Welcome
Welcome to CSUMB Speaks. As you can probably gather from the post title, this is a place where you can come to Speak Your Mind about all things related to CSUMB.
How It All Works
The format is pretty simple; this introductory statement will always be the first post, as a welcome and some guidelines for getting started. After the intro, there are a series of posts with titles like "Food," "Classes," "Administration" etc. each with a short description. These posts will be permanent, and there will never be more than 10 to 15 on the entire blog. The comment section of each post is your place to Speak Your Mind on whichever facet of CSUMB life that post is addressing. For example: Hate the food at CSUMB? Love the DC, but have some criticisms for the OE? Vice versa? Can't get enough of either? On the "Food" post, if you want to Speak Your Mind just click on the link that says Speak Your Mind! and comment as you see fit. Comments can be anonymous, Blogger Identities, or even your personal email or web address. You choose! Some moderator regulations do apply to comments, but not many and they shouldn't infringe on your ability to Speak Your Mind; they just help make the site more pleasant and accessible for everyone.
The Goal
It is your right to have an opinion and express it. About everything. This site exists to help you exercise that right with regards to your higher education. Education is a service industry, and as such you should get what you pay for. Love the service? You have the right to say so. Hate it? You have the right to say that too. Just want to make a few suggestions? Yep, that's also your right. You have rights; use them. The site also exists to create a network. There is power in shared criticism and shared support. Be empowered by joining forces with other students, and finding out you're not alone. Each topic post will eventually include the contact information of the appropriate authority if you choose to make your voice heard on an individual basis. You can affect change. Speak Your Mind. You have the right.
